Bit of an odd header, but I was rather taken by the work that Usuariu has done with our turret. The CAD drawing here will eventually end up as a 3D print on their desk, but for now it's just really nice art. "The model was done drawing over pictures I took myself from the game, so relative dimensions are pretty spot on. Already bought a 3D printer, just waiting for it to arrive. The turret will soon become my new desk toy." Ah, exploded diagrams. My one* weakness. *That's not true. I have loads.
Weirdly cinematic youtuber BedBananas has finally returned to the world of Rust, with Planet Rust. I'm not going to say a lot about it. Off you go and have a look. Dear god, that bunker.
Plenty of art this week! On the left is ciciocosmin's logo; in the middle they just made some art. Which leaves us with 참새's lovely sketch from the Steam Community. On Artstation, Shz Inferno remodelled the AK. Art!
This is rather sweet. Stimpee played Rust with his partner. You know how awkward friendly fire is? Imagine doing that to the person you're making kissy-face with. Wow! That ending was... wow.
There are digital dead-ends everywhere. Want proof? Click this link if you have Steam on your PC and it'll download a long forgotten 2D flash game called Codename Gordon. You can't search for it on Steam, you just have to know it's there. Rust is no different: over the years of development, things get made and then forgotten. Or maybe unnoticed? Either way, there's things in there you might not know about, but you can educate yourself with this Shadowfrax video on the subject. Hope you sluts enjoyed that.
The best thing about traps is finding out that they worked. In Rust, that means finding a downed body or stuffed rucksack. In Welyn's video, he's hidden one in a pumpkin patch, using the vines to cover the snap trap. Fun stuff.
It's not just us getting nautical. Colon Blow has been inspired by the recent watery updates, though you might not enjoy what he's added... I think I'll just stay on the land.
Demonic doors are a staple of the Rust Skin Workshop, so Xtab has risked possession of his hinges to get this video. Seriously, what's with all the demonic doors?
We learned a long time ago not to play with Helk. Dev hacks.
Think you're working on something awesome? Tell me all about it. Share your base designs, show off a game-mode from your server, or have you done a cool thing with boats? There's a dedicated forum, or you can fish for upvotes in the sub reddit. I also shuffle around the the Steam Community, so feel free to show me to things from there. You can follow and respond to Rust on Twitter, and I'm on there as well.
