Ridiculous maps, art, contraptions, and more.

There's an art to Youtube thumbnails. And there's art in Youtube thumbnails. The header is via SteNic, who does both Let's Plays and Rust podcasts that you'll find on the channel, and who has some awesome thumbnail art. There's a lot of Scottishness on his channel. I am available for translation at a reasonable rate if anyone needs help with it.
Some ridiculous stuff this week from the map making communities. Once again, WheatleyMF has crafted a scene with the various props and bits found in our SDK. I like to imagine the clinking and clanking of a hidden workshop, the smell of welding in the air, and the cackle of a mad scientist going Too Far when looking at his work. I mean, look at this robot. And then there's this map. A 'sequel' to Waterworld, one of the first really interesting custom maps. Waterworld 2 is map with the island density ramped up, seeded with custom monuments. You couldn't call it realistic, but that's not the point. The point is that it could be made, and so it was. If you want to see it for yourself, open the F1 menu and type: connect 74.91.116.31:28015.
I've been waiting to see a hJune balloon raid video. I figured he'd be able to do something pretty fun with the air bags in the sky. The 'loon raid starts about 20 mins in, if you want to hop right there. Though the whole video is his usual quality. Shame they never ballooned out.
This is one of the strangest things I've posted, which is saying something. It's a site that lets you practice taming the AK recoil pattern. So you click on the image, and the gun moves around in roughly the same way as the AK. It's not 100%, but it's good enough for a quick play, for when you don't have access to Rust, or are dreaming of finding an AK on a dead geared dude. Via reddit.
I'm a little bit wary sharing something so WiP from our Staging Branch, but I also love seeing people coming up with cool things in Rust, and the upcoming addition of electricity has already produced some cool things. So with the heavy concession that THIS IS ALL SUBJECT TO CHANGE, here's few things people have made. CrackerJack built a clock. And mapper Vice has been making things. On the left is a 4 bit memory cell. And on the right is a 4 bit calculator, "Successfully added 3+5 and got 8 in binary". If you click on the link to his channel, you can see various vids of those being made. I can tell this is going to make me very happy in the coming months.
Just a fun play to round off the day for you all. OMG indeed.
Think you're working on something awesome? Tell me all about it. Share your map designs, show off a game-mode from your server, let us see your cool base. There's a dedicated forum, or you can fish for upvotes in the subreddit. I also shuffle around the the Steam Community, so feel free to show me to things from there. You can follow and respond to Rust on Twitter, and I'm on there as well.
