First off, this weekend Rust broke its concurrent player-record, set all the way back in January 2014. If you were one of the 61,467 who played on Sunday... (the number there is a little off) thanks! You were the reason I spent most of the weekend F5ing the Steam Stats page, watching the number creep ever upwards, fearing the unleashing of Garry's schlong. So thanks from everyone here but me.
The header is a little slice of Rust life from Dat Kitty. With the furnace burning away and the code lock keeping people at bay, it almost looks cosy. I just hope the girl really is asleep and not dead, or it takes on a completely different tone.
If you enjoyed The Perfect Raid, which is LOLOUTftw's excellent look at what would happen if David Attenborough ended up in Rust (spoilers: he'd be amazing at revenge killing and insults), then the next vid is going to make you very excited. It's an extension of that idea, and the first episode of a series!
Once again, it's a stark reminder of the importance of doors.
Something a bit different. Hammam Abdullah wrote on reddit: "I haven't been killed in Rust for 3 days, I fell in love with the beauty of the game but always felt that the life of my character is on the edge and could be killed at any second. Anyway the game inspired me to write a music dedicated to it. Have a listen."

This is a piece of writing I very much agree with, having spent most of my recent playtime on a Small Rust server. Larry from MMOWeekly has been playing the game on New York Small and described his experiences. I think we've both came to the same conclusion: that the smaller worlds bring an edge back to Rust that the larger maps can occasionally miss.
This tiny absolute cut throat map was full of people who will cannibalize you at the drop of a hat. This server is downright scary and prison like. The helicopter that flew in was such a welcome addition. I usually loathe the appearance of the thing but this time on an island of chaos, the heli honestly felt welcomed as it represented some sort of order on this lawless tiny prison. I ran into groups of 2,3 and 5. People breaking into houses with rocks and stone tools. The whole island had this end of the world meets dawn of the dead desperate cannibal like feel. The way we all dreamed Rust would be. I loved it.
Next time you're hunting for a server, think about a Small map.
There's bound to be some new players among the record numbers. If so, this is for you. When he's not Breaking Rust, SGT Solj is trying to help by showing you things not to do. He doesn't start at the very beginning, but instead begins with a build and points out where errors can--and often are--made. There's a lot in here, so you'll probably recognise at least one thing you've mucked up.

I can't respond to everything, but I read every comment and take it all in.
Rust is lawless. That doesn't mean there's no-one in there protecting people, just that if there needs to be justice then the players need to do it. With maces. That's what the guys at PitchDank did and encountered some interesting characters, including the game's pre-eminent vocal gymnastic, the Equine Oesophagus: Shadowfrax.
