  • TheGagabou: glocan: Im serious.. What kind of business is this, im so fking tired of the staff dont give shit about the players.. The players that bought the game, who pay for it all!! COME ON! force wipe it, show something to the players that u actually trying.. Just please everyone stop play the game so maybe we will get a fking response. Really dude, the staff don't give a shit about players; fucking really. They work their ass off constantly trying to better the game, improve different aspects of the game. Whenever an update comes out they don't "celebrate cause the week's work is done"; no they strap their seatbelts on and get hotfixing all the important glitches as fast as they can. And when they're done receiving insults non-stop from entitled little pricks like you, they get back to working on more content for your spoiled ass to enjoy. What do you think's happening @Facepunch' studios Rn? They're working together, hard, trying to fix all those problems. So shut the fuck up about "them not giving a shit", take a break from your computer for a hot second and wait. How hard is that? Dude I have been playing this game for a long time and I know how it works. I really hope they will force wipe it for everyone. So many players now that wont play untill next wipe, and it just forced.. Dont get me wrong I love rust, and I love the game. But from my experience over the years, they will just settle with how it is now.

  • hmm force wipe again and make an rollback so we can play the game again nad take the update next month when you have looked over it properly again plzz

  • What game have you been playing? Are you sure it's Rust? Remember the F1Craft abuse? Hotfixed. Remember the codelock access abuse? Hotfixed. Remember having people phase through walls by switching from fullscreen to windowed? Hotfixed. Remember map Dos? Hotfixed. Those are only the few I can remember in the last few months. "You know how it works" Clearly not; Never have they "settled with how it is". Whenever a gamebreaking bug/s happen they spend countless hours working on it. Never have they just decided to not do anything and let it be. Force wipe on everyone... You realize every single server, other than the officials, has it's own schedule, will wipe whenever the owners feels it's in the best interest of it' server to wipe.
  • Keep up the great work facepunch I would love to play but I can't as I have a shitty GPU that plays rust at 20 fps a min graphics I know how difficult it is to do what you're doing these entitled little shits need to settle down <3

  • JayDiddle: glocan: Just please everyone stop play the game so maybe we will get a fking response. That isn't going to help...Facepunch already said "if you don't like where the game is right now, then don't play it." WoW just wow! So thats how facepunch is suppose to treat its customers wow. I'd like to see where they said that quote?

  • @erictred11 I don't know about the direct quote mentioned above, but a prime point of view from Garry is captured here. People seem to forget the game is still being built. There's no promise that it is even playable yet. httpsw.google.com/amp/s/www.vg247.com/2016/12/19/if-youre-bored-of-rust-just-stop-playing-it-says-garry-newman/amp/

I'd like to see where they said that quote? Garry didn't mean it to be an ass with that comment; his intention was that, if people don't like where the game is at, he'd rather they not play it, so that they don't get to the point of actually hating the game. He would rather they take a break, keep an eye on the dev blogs, and see where it goes, then pick up when they feel like it's where they want it to be. For reference, here's an article that talks about it: https://www.destructoid.com/rust-developer-if-you-re-bored-of-the-game-then-just-stop-playing-it--404828.phtml

  • Ok cool not being salty just found that quote to be kinda questionable. But ty for clearing that up for me guys and have a good1!

So I, as Rust gameserver admin, should just ignore my server for some weeks? And do something else instead of manage and play on my pre-paid server? The update came and I found this glitch after 6 minutes of playing. First complaints of players after 10 minutes. This clearly shows only one thing to me: this update wasn't even tested a little bit by anyone, otherwise this obvious glitch would have been detected! I love Rust, I played it so many hours by now and I am hot for every new update, because I like to see, what they come up with next. But they destroy main functionalities very often. I am also a software-engineer and if I would work this kind of way, I would get fired for sure.

On a Thursday night we're in the position of making changes, testing those changes then shipping it. It's a short turnaround, we don't have time to test for days. This problem occurred because we made a change, tested the change worked, then shipped. We didn't know that something on the build server had fucked up and caused this problem, we wasn't testing for this problem, we didn't test in an environment that made this problem apparent. We know it's frustrating, but these things are going to happen while we're on a weekly cycle. Once we leave early access we're going to move to a monthly cycle, the patches will be tested for a couple of days with no changes before we release.
  • Erictred11: or I'll ...I'll....burn the place to the ground, and I still havent received my paycheck yet! If you have nothing to say, say nothing. I don't expect a game to be perfect and I would get fired, because I develop financial software (insurance comparisons). And sorry for your paycheck. That is surely the disadvantage of performance-related pay. garry: We know it's frustrating, but these things are going to happen while we're on a weekly cycle. So we have to wait until next thursday or until monday? Because some of the last updates we've seen came on monday.

And if your a software engineer you would have appreciated it. Cause that was what the movie was basically about shheesh some people just are SOOOOO Seriousssss. But then again 99% of all engineers I have run into in the field either , A.)know everything B.)Can never be wrong C.)way to educated to talk with the likes of me. D.) Always say "where did you get your data from" with a perturbed look. E.) Have the most cluttered desks I have ever seen. And last but not least absolutly no sence of humor. And last of all" All of the above"! You have a nice day now ok !
  • Erictred11: You missed it ! It was a quote from the movie " Office Space ". Sorry, I don't know that movie. Maybe it was a big hit in the United States, but not here in germany. Maybe we are way too educated or serious for this kind of entertainment. *justjoking* But I love "IT Crowd", great british TV series. Erictred11: You have a nice day now ok ! Yeah, I wish you the same.

  • Personally, I haven't experienced any of these issues myself, apart from some objects sinking into the ground. (Which I had seen a couple days before this patch as well.) The game performance actually improved on my end. I think it was due to the changes to the graphics settings that they noted. I got around a 5 fps boost, which is good for me because I basically run this game on a potato. (In fact, I have to play on lower than potato graphics setting. Lul.) Only negative experience I've dealt with has been spawning and getting killed before I can even have enough stone/wood to built a hachet. -.- Roughly first hour was just getting killed with no way to defend myself.
