Where did you see that it lowered costs? Added upkeep came from doors and deployables outside.

He actually has a point. Clans have a large player count, but they typically have multiple large bases in an area. This all requires upkeep, and with a large base, it will require a lot of resources. Eventually this count will require them to all gather more, spending less t...

There is a difference between voicing opinions and openly complaining about a subject that is created largely by players. I will admit that the decay needs to be changed, but complaining and being toxic about it instead of making a rational argument with the possibility of a...

The point is that players need to build smart. Honeycombing doesn't work anymore because of the decay, but if you build smaller and in a hidden place as opposed to building in the open, its much easier to survive. The point is that the system needs work, but until it is chan...

So, solo bases aren't going to be massive bases that cost a ton to maintain. If you're solo and building a massive base like that, you probably can maintain it anyway. It's not reasonable for a solo player to make a huge base that requires a ton to maintain then bitch about ...

I did this solo in the desert on a server with 123 players online excluding myself. The weapon I had was a revolver that I silenced with some of the loot I found. As for the monuments, the drop rates are awful, with the guns being a 1% drop from military crates. If worse com...

This was mainly what I was referring to with my earlier argument. In legacy, the best places were gone when the wipe started or were rapidly destroyed for the duration of a wipe. With a purely static map, that will happen again. I'd rather stick with procgen because of the r...

What I mean by the only way to make large changes is that if they are adding new monuments and other things like that, they can't insert them into an existing map. These changes require a map wipe. With a monthly wipe format, they can preform these updates and make necessary...

From the way I understand it, they'd make one procedural map and tweak it a bit every month. The map would be fundamentally the same.
Sabre013 General Discussion Reply
I have to say that I'm against the removal of procedural maps. I spent a lot of time in legacy and learned the map, but the problem I always saw was the best places to build were pretty much gone when the wipe started. I missed it at first, but having spent a while on procedur...

I don't see them as a problem. I see them as the only real method the devs have to implement massive, game-changing updates that can drastically alter how the game functions. They are necessary and while there are plans for a wipeless rust down the road, (a long way down the r...

Assuming I understand this correctly, there are a few places where you're wrong. True, people rarely use quarries if they are solos because they are large and give away position, and if you place it elsewhere they are hard to defend. If you place it outside, it can also be u...

True, but there's no reason to punish everyone who isn't in a clan or large group by putting the workbench required for crafting all endgame gear and weapons in a place that is easily accessed. To make 3 c4, you'd have to leave with a massive amount of resources, and that wo...

I understand that, but even with a reduced crafting time, you need a lot of pills and water. On a typical run, which is only a couple minutes, through the tower takes 7-8 pills, 500-1000 ml of water, and 4-6 syringes. Now imagine crafting for even 10 minutes in there. Then you...

There are still glaring problems. A solo or small group is unlikely to be capable of killing a clan. Even if they get the jump on them, a solo or small group would have to get into an extended fight, which will more than likely result in someone else to get something, and wi...

That would be hilarious. It would be perfect if the drops were giant presents and instead of the plane sound you hear bells and a really loud HO HO HO.

The AK and bolt are hard to get, but not impossible. Airdrops are the fastest ways. Ladder Hatches are also a huge pain, but can be obtained. Rustlabs has drop rates on its website. Even then, endgame gear should be hard to get.

While zergs are an issue to solos, There shouldn't be too many negatives to working in a large group. More people makes more things, and it makes clans powerful. A can should not be easily challenged by a solo player. There's no reason for it to work like that.
