Vertiigo versus a tank, Rust myths busted (again), art, taking the black, and more.29 August 2017
The header by veys_ryu is another work of art inspired by a video. I can't quite get over that there's lots of collaboartion between youtubers and artists in Rust. It's so satisfying.
The video is another Vertiigo masterclass in shouting at people until things happen. In this one he gathers his noobs together to take on our new tank. He even ropes in Helk. It manages to be silly and dramatic at the same time.
- "Do I get last words?"
- "Yes, go ahead."
That guy is my hero. Also, they got papped when filming this.
Sneaky sneaky work, Valley.
Speaking of tanks, this mod on The Horde server was always destined to happen. They just did it first.
I love the tank's movement.
I almost selfishly kept both images from this section for a future week's header, because there's nothing more satisfying in this job than knowing that the main image is covered. Either of these would have gone to the top in a different week, but I decided you deserved them now.
First up is monphas' awesome moment of Dome fuck-uppery.
Next is JPRyno's little scene of naked skullduggery. I'm not sure he'd get away with this, tbh.
I'll just have to cross my fingers for next week.
Brunt Force Trauma does a Rust concept, 80s style.
Needs more Safety Dance.
Youtube is dark and full of terror, especially when PitchDank roleplays as the Night's Watch from Game of Thrones.
Bit random, but I liked it.
Here is Xtab with his favourite workshop skins this week.
I'm not sure how to describe this. I mean, I know what it is, but the fact that it exists is ridiculous. A real world website for an in-game hotel run by players, complete with price list and services.
"We've been in the business for a while and know starting that 1x2 condo near some oil storage facility is a bad idea. For a bunch of wipes we dedicate ourselves to serving you knowing that your dream base in the next step to glory."
I love that this exists.
Think you're working on something awesome? Tell me all about it. Share your base designs, show off a game-mode from your server, or have you done a cool thing with Code Locks and Vending Machines?
There's a dedicated forum post, or you can fish for upvotes in the Subreddit. I also shuffle around the the Steam Community, so feel free to show me to things from there. You can follow and respond to Rust on Twitter, and I'm on there as well.
I can't respond to everything, but I read every comment and take it all in.
