Community Update 103

The AK in real-life (again!), a really dark machinima, the greatest grenade kill of all time, and more.

I'm well aware of Maxim Klyuch's weapon making skills, having covered his incredible work on many occasions. I'm slightly surprised it took him this long to take on the AK47, which is probably Rust's most iconic weapon, but I'm not surprised he made it capable of firing. At least it's only pellets, and he's only shooting at balloons. I'm amused that he presents these vids as 'How To...'. I can't even put together an Ikea shelf without crying and calling my dad.
Meanwhile, I'm trying to think of something nice to say about Boris the Blade's return to Rust. I've never been so glad to see bloopers in all my life. I needed a laugh after all that.
Ah, Swemba. He doesn't put out content every week, he doesn't do skits, and he doesn't truck in controversy (as far as I can tell). He just makes swooping videos of Rust that makes the world a better place. This is the third in his Bases of Rust series, where he floats through dead, abandoned bases like a ghost. Or as he puts it:
Every wipe Rust players spend hours building new bases and compounds. Within a week for some players they become abandoned. This is an attempt to document some of those structures during a single wipe on the Rusty Moose US vanilla server.
Take a look, then look at his other vids. They're all really good. As usual, it was filmed on the Rusty Moose server. I have nothing but nice things to say about those guys.
Just a gallery of a Walled City that -Stawn- dropped onto Reddit. It took 10-15 hours, and was built by one person.
This is a tad long for what it is, but it's worth it. In this vid, Holyman TV paints the Mona Lisa in the middle of a base raid. He's hotswapping his brush for his guns and back again, which is probably something that could only happen in Rust. Art is pain.
I really shouldn't encourage golden gulletted Shadowfrax with his Concept Limbo series. He's making us look bad, and that's something Garry encourages us to do all by ourselves. However, I also do these updates because I do want to encourage people, so here we are at his tenth video that looks at our concept art and tests and wonders where the hell they've gone? The answer, as always, is that... look, a squirrel! This is partly here because the intro is so good. The rest is ace, but that first camera shot grabbed me by shirt frills.
Knarley's grenade kill here is probably the highlight of his Rust life. Nowhere to go but down after this.
I'd have quit the game and never returned after that. I am George.
Think you're working on something awesome? Tell me all about it. Now's the time to share your base designs, or get into the growing Raid Cam business, or show off a game-mode from your server, or if your server has an interesting theme. There's a dedicated forum post, or you can fish for upvotes in the Subreddit. I also shuffle around the the Steam Community, so feel free to show me to things from there. You can follow and respond to Rust on Twitter, and I'm on there as well. I can't respond to everything, but I read every comment and take it all in.
