Rust Conquest, what drawbridges would look like in the game, Ser Winter's best moment, and more.

I'm always fascinated at where a piece of Rust artwork comes from, and how it came to be. The header, for instance, is the background image of the Vanilla [UK] Rust server's website, a server that's aiming to be "the best vanilla Rust server in Europe." I hope it is, because then people will want to compete and make more art. My job is way easier when there's lots of art out there, hint hint. I cropped the original to better fit the site, but here's the full version. Thanks SharpSkarf and, of course, Porochew, the image maker extraordinaire.
If being good at Rust is something you want to be publicly available knowledge (you think Craig Pearson is my real name? FOOLS! Mr and Ms Sexington were sad, but I needed a pen-name) then there's always Rust Conquest, a burgeoning take on Rust as a competitive e-sport. Now I could go to the trouble of finding out what it is and where it's going, but we work smart not hard here at Facepunch, and also the MLG already did that. Here's their interview with the mode's creator, Sam Richie.
Another tournament was held last week, and there's a pile of videos from it. I'm going to drop Argyle Alligator's coverage below. He just passed his big ass lawyery exam. If you mention Rust when you tell him what you did and how many people you did it to, you'll get 110% off all legal help*. His coverage of the qualifiers is here. *a joke.
The second ep of Brunt Force Trauma's detective show is here. There's a pile of f-bombs, one c-bomb, adult situations, and more. Please only click this if you're over 18, and then only do it if you're really curious. Nope. Still speechless.
Artist and video maker Surge does community concept art differently, possibly adding third, fourth and seventh dimensions to the ideas they believe should be in the game but aren't. In this, the first in a series, he's imagined drawbridges into the game. Knowing Rust so well, I can't quite believe he's managed to work a concept in so seamlessly. I actually need to check the source code to make sure he's not cheating. Well done, Surge. You've done a good enough job that I worry Shadowfrax will have a go at us in a few months because it's still missing. Do I need to explicitly state that this stuff isn't in the game? HEY EVERYONE WHO RESPONDS TO OUR TWITTER: THIS ISN'T IN THE GAME.
Not only has Phaedo82 gone from Rust, but Ser Winter has George Costanza-ed his way out of the game as well. So long*, mate. *Psst. He's not really left.
Think you're working on something awesome? Tell me all about it. Now's the time to share your base designs, or get into the growing Raid Cam business, or show off a game-mode from your server, or if your server has an interesting theme. There's a dedicated forum post, or you can fish for upvotes in the Subreddit. I also shuffle around the the Steam Community, so feel free to show me to things from there. You can follow and respond to Rust on Twitter, and I'm on there as well. I can't respond to everything, but I read every comment and take it all in.
Sometimes my job just involves the Graphics Interchange Format. Here are some. The left is an animated Rust logo by MelodyCloud|IDK that was posted to the Steam Community. Right is a little animation Seb sent to me on Twitter. That was the GIFs.
