This is getting silly now. I keep hoping someone will take on OragneCupBandit in some sort of brutal fanart battle to the death, but nothing's appeared. Perhaps people are intimidated? Anyway, here he is again with a nice Rust image, and I've once again had to crop it to make it fit the page. Hit reddit to see the original, as well as the new comic he's started up. Ho, ho, ho! Merry Chrustmas! The holidays might be weeks away, but that hasn't stopped us getting into the spirit of things already. Holmzy has even stopped phoning me up in the middle of the night to read out all my passwords! Yes, it's a good time of year for everyone, and an even better time of year for the winners of Xtab and Rustafied's Christmas Skin Contest, Rudolph's Revenge. The winners were just announced and will soon be patched into the game. Top prize goes to Grandmother's Gift Barricade by Krovv. According to Rustafied: "I love the instant nostalgia I get when I look at this, back to when I was young and had a ton of presents to unrwap. The reflections really lend to the idea that it is indeed gift wrap!" Second comes right after first! Xtab felt that AstonAndrey's Christmas box was "Cheery and Christmassy!" Killerbl's third place Christmas Elf Shirt is "just the thing to wear when you go visit Rust neighbors" this holiday, according to Xtab. Cover up your wang, though. That's not all. Exenoxx's Frostbite Facemask was the People's Choice, and honorable mentions to go MDemon's Ice Tooth Hatchet and Killerbl's Christmas Tree Door. Really amazing work by everyone who entered. The judges were blown away by the quality of the work. Can't wait to see them in game.

Keeping in the spirit of all this *gestures to Santa hat*, here's a sweet little Rust short by Midas. I must warn you now, there's no murderous twist or anything. And now back to our regularly scheduled horrors.

Let's pinky swear--while we all still have them--to never copy what happens in the linked video. Here's what we're going to do: after this is posted, I'll be holding my finger up to the site's CMS for about a day. If you want to watch the video, you must promise me you're not going to do anything even remotely similar to what happens in the vid. I felt that! Good, now we can proceed. RealFunk made a real-world Beancan Grenade. And then blew it up. I'm not sure I've ever been more scared of seeing the conclusion to a Rust video, but I can promise there's nothing in this that requires stitches or last rites. Just good old homemade explosives exploding in an unsafe environment that makes our in-game version look pretty weedy. Joy! Like a silly goose, they've turned of embedding, but here's a frame from the video. You might be thinking, "Haha! He's swapped out a photo of a nuclear test or something..." I honestly have not. Aside from rocks, trees, or painted signs with Pepe on it, the next most consistent thing on Rust servers are the Tool Cupboard buildings that clans use to stake out claims. PepperTheRed spotted this and came up with a base design that could double as one at a glance. This is more about social engineering than base design, so I'm pretty impressed. A base design that KCmo calls "genius" is probably worth a look. He also used a bad swear in the comment, but if I ever want to show this post to my mum I can't include it. Mum, it was that word dad uses to describe... well, everything. Love you both.
