By now you probably recognise the lovely brush strokes of Tatten, who I'm glad to see actually earns money from his Rust work. This is a poster commissioned by a wife for a father and son duo, commemorating their awesome base defense. It's been cropped, as usual, but the full version is here.
This popped up just before Chrustmas, but I'm playing catch up a little with all that stuff. It has Phaedo82 commentating a Swemba video, so it sounds lovely and looks great. It starts as an offline raid, but picks up. It's also almost 30 mins long, so settle in for a long watch.
Thank god for clan tags. That got messy.
Big builds are impressive and all, but craftypepe's efficient 1x1 on reddit is excellent. There's something incredibly satisfying about seeing how much can be squeezed into that small space.
I usually avoid using clipping to squeeze things into a base, but that's almost too cosy for me to care. And if I don't do that, there's still a good layout for a very small base.
The long, cold night that is the Steam Community occasionally has some stars winking in the darkness. Amidst the random gifs and hilarious screenshots, there's the odd bit of art. The left and middle images are from Indio FPS, and the sad face on the right is from header-monger and Random Rust sketcher OrangeCupBandit
Art > gifs you hope to get upvotes on.
I've always avoided doing anything on skins in the community blog because I worried it might give those skins an unhealthy voting advantage simply by being posted, but then I noticed Rayco Haex's presentation of his work and I needed to show it off. He created a render to display his all of skins in a single scene.
It's kind of mind-blowing to see this amount of work being put into it. And it would be rude of me to not link to the collection after that, so here you go.
Think you're working on something awesome? Tell me all about it. Share your base designs, show off a game-mode from your server, or if your server has an interesting theme.
There's a dedicated forum post, or you can fish for upvotes in the Subreddit. I also shuffle around the the Steam Community, so feel free to show me to things from there. You can follow and respond to Rust on Twitter, and I'm on there as well.
I can't respond to everything, but I read every comment and take it all in.
