Fan artists always seem to hit the ground running. Last week's header by veys has been joined by a pair of fine arts from the same fellow. Two pieces that are equally good, which is annoying because I had to decide on the header for the site. How dare you complicate my work flow! One per week is more than acceptable and about all my brain can handle. But two? Rude!
Ultimately, I went with the image that best reflected the game and the fan base.
This popped up on reddit. I was really surprised it hadn't been linked before, because it has a nice art style. It's just a short clip from one of Ramsey's videos, but lovingly presented by muntedninja.
I'd have happily used a frame from this as a header on any other week. More, please!
Mikillding worked up a new take on a single-shot rifle, for poor people looking to snipe.
I'm a big fan of weapons that look like they'll explode in your hand, so well done.
Holdacious is trying out a new Let's Play series where he lives on a server without a base and he can't even use a building plan. He's going to attempt to live in the wild, using Small Stashes to keep his stuff together. He can't even live with a friend. It's always fun to see how self-imposed rules can complicate matters, but they also help him learn different ways to play.
Next ep, please.
I like this simply because it exists. Nateda answered the question of how you figure out what time it is in Rust by avoiding the obvious response. Look up? No need to do that when you've built a sundial. He's crafted one using shaped foundations, boxes, and a pillar. It's certainly one of the more interesting building videos we've posted.
"What time is it, Jeff?"
"It's quarter past box, m8!"
Frost has got his hands on the new admin demo recording tools, gathering multiple Rust Youtubers away from the soft glow of Photoshop (for their thumbnails) and into a battle. I suspect there's going to be more of these in the coming months.
Not because of new recording tools, but because Shadowfrax is a massive camera hog.
Think you're working on something awesome? Tell me all about it. Share your base designs, show off a game-mode from your server, or have you done a cool thing with Code Locks and Vending Machines?
There's a dedicated forum post, or you can fish for upvotes in the Subreddit. I also shuffle around the the Steam Community, so feel free to show me to things from there. You can follow and respond to Rust on Twitter, and I'm on there as well.
I can't respond to everything, but I read every comment and take it all in.
