Art, base guitar, making friends with role-players, and more.

It's been a while since Brullan made some art, and I was starting to worry he'd moved on to (gulp!) another game. Turned out he'd lost his tablet's pen. Ah, life. Well, not to be defeated, he's using his mouse to make his Rust art, and made more art worthy of the header scene. I'm glad he's back. He's probably appeared more than any artist on the community update. I decided to take a look at his first submission to the Rust artwork page, and you can see the progress he's made is quite profound, often working with the game as inspiration and not simply drawing something we can see on the servers. Hope you find your pen soon!
These are too good, and so is my title if you don't mind me saying (Base Guitar... Bass Guitar... eh?). TenshiH doesn't just play the in-game guitar and edit the notes to create the song they're covering, but they also need to build a base to house the wall that they select the notes from. It's a fairly standard base for "Running in the '90s". But the themed base build for "At Doom's Gate" is awesome. They've combined Doom and Rust incredibly well, even using the Double-Barrelled Shotgun. \m/(>.<)\m/
Smell that? The paint is drying, inspiration hangs like the tang of sweat in a locker room. Time for some art, and by someone new as well! Tigran has worked up a couple of scenes. Over on DeviantArt, sgtjonasw has been making pixel art of some of our items. And on reddit, KindAdeptness sketched out a Makeshift Musket. The word 'makeshift' in the context of weaponry is terrifying.
I really like this parkour base that was set up on Rustopia a little while ago by Lindox6626. It could just be a normal base at first glance, but the hidden little platforms are nicely done, and the mark of a smart builder. Overly intense editing aside, d0xalic made a pretty cool castle for a raid event. Castles exist to be raided, so it served its purpose.
Like kings of yore used to do, and possibly some of the more awful members of today's aristocracy would like to do, Another Idiot set up a chess match in Rust, using people as pawns. I'm not entirely sure what we just watched was in the spirit of chess, but it was in the spirit of Rust.
Like Frasier's apartment, quality trumps cohesion in Xtab's latest Steam Workshop round-up. I love the colours on the axe.
Banana Duck looks for common ground between role-players and the rest of us. Good work, and he didn't even need to cheat.
Think you're working on something awesome? Tell me all about it. Share your base designs, show off a game-mode from your server, or have you done a cool thing with Code Locks and Vending Machines? There's a dedicated forum, or you can fish for upvotes in the sub reddit. I also shuffle around the the Steam Community, so feel free to show me to things from there. You can follow and respond to Rust on Twitter, and I'm on there as well.
