So, yeah - at first glance, that header could be a Rust fan dressed to the nines in his favourite Rust gear. I keep thinking that every time I scroll past, but then I have to remind myself that it's actually Rizza Gaming's custom made model. I'm sure you're staring at it wondering 'how?', which is handy as I can show you how. That was easy!
That wasn't easy. All those details: distressing the metal, the AK's tiny bits, the mask's paint. This is really amazing work. You might want to throw him a sub on Youtube, just to say thanks.
Our friend Shadowfrax has evil plans, and needs some help to pull them off. Now, I'm not saying the 'evil' part is his ideas to try out other games a lot more, but that's definitely one of the signs. His less evil plans are absolutely worth supporting, so here's his pitch.
And here's his Patreon.
So this week's base looksies have interesting quirks. I'm not entirely sure they fulfill the 'ace' part of the promise in this section, but I'm prepared to take that risk. Why? Because Mister Flak made a base out of Spinners.
Far less controversially, here's a tour of some of the cities of Rust Factions era 3.
And here's Corrosion Hour's February Bases. Just 400 of the 1200 that were on the server.
And here's MikeTheVike showing off some stuff on his 2X server.
Based bases.
Eventually I'd like to cover some server mods in this section, to see what people are doing to the game on a larger scale. If you have an interesting game mode, not just 12X gather or whatever, hit me up and let me see.
For now, here's the uncomfortably named Colon Blow's latest: Neon Skins!
It's quite involved, but the results are amazing. Though the vid does stop abruptly, so I'll relink if it's reupped. I've also been tracking canyourubmybuddha's RustNet mod: "RustNET is a remote management interface designed to be used with AutomatedSearchlights, RemoteTurrets, SecurityCameras and BountyNET."
Some really cool stuff, you guys.
I invented a word, so please use it carefully. PinkSwagter got in touch to say they'd worked on an update of Surge's trailer, and that they'd worked hard. I'm always up for rewarding hard work, so here it is.
Nice work!
This week, Xtab strapped two magnifying glasses to his face and announced the invention of glasses. He used this new form of viewing to spy out the latest skins on the Steam Workshop.
Haha! He just walked into a door.
Think you're working on something awesome? Tell me all about it. Share your base designs, show off a game-mode from your server, or have you done a cool thing with Code Locks and Vending Machines?
There's a dedicated forum, or you can fish for upvotes in the sub reddit. I also shuffle around the the Steam Community, so feel free to show me to things from there. You can follow and respond to Rust on Twitter, and I'm on there as well.
