Holy crap! I've done 99 of these? How did that happen? Oh, I know. It's because you lot are a never-ending source of Rust-inspired videos, art, and whatever else you put your mind to, and I've always loved seeing what people do with games... wait, did we just become best friends?!
The header, for example, started with our artist Paul's take on an in-game drone. It inspired Matthieu Gouault to model his own version of it. As Tom Butters is fond of saying--usually before I edit it out of his text--have a spin of it below.
Ta, Matt! We are now best friends.
We're too humble to make videos about how great we are, but when other people do it we're very happy to go 'aw, shucks' then show all the people who F5 this site. So when Mr Memeio got in touch about his new video of the prerelease branch, highlighting some of Petur's recent work on improving Rust's look, we blushed mightily hard then embedded it right here.
Excellent work from an excellent and under-subbed Youtuber, and who also happens to be my best friend.
Excellent builder, redditor, and close and personal friend of mine, Mexican-Butler has crafted a Radtown using the in-game building tools and some server mods. His Abandoned Polar Research Station is one of the best builds I've ever seen.
Would you like to test your Rust building ideas out without the risk of losing everything you own and hitting 'refund' in Steam? We'd like that, too. That's why we're glad to see Fortify--a Rust base design program--is now up on Steam. Here's what you can do with it.
Now do that. Also, I've not posted about Rustangelo before because there's always the nagging suspicion that an anti-hack change could block it and you'd be out of pocket if you bought it, buuuuuuut here it is. If, like almost all of Rust, you're really bad at using the in-game painting tools, this prog paints for you. This would definitely fool Penn & Teller.
I can't even draw noses, so this is cool, but I also like the fact that the in-game painting tools display the talent of the people using them. That said, the devs are now my best friends.
God damnit, Shadowfrax. This is almost a good idea.
I imagine there'd be quite a queue for that, but I'm not going to join it as I need room for my BFF4life, Shadowfrax.
Being an admin is an important and difficult job, so making yourself feel better about it is necessary. I found this ridiculous thing on the Steam Community. Maahes_Dazzorm made a book to hold his server commands in.
You know what page 7 of that book says? That we're best of friends.
Think you're working on something awesome? Tell me all about it. Now's the time to share your base designs, or get into the growing Raid Cam business, or show off a game-mode from your server, or if your server has an interesting theme.
There's a dedicated forum post, or you can fish for upvotes in the Subreddit. I also shuffle around the the Steam Community, so feel free to show me to things from there. You can follow and respond to Rust on Twitter, and I'm on there as well.
I can't respond to everything, but I read every comment and take it all in.
