You have to watch the Vertiigo Parable.24 October 2017
Usually the welcome message is driven by the available art, and handily there's an accompanying piece to go with it this week, but even if there weren't I'd have found a way to place Vertiigo's latest video right at the top of the page. It's astonishing. At first, I thought 'The Vertiigo Parable' was just going to a bit of riff on the Stanley Parable game, but Vert played me like a fool. Yes, it's a riff, but it's done with an incredible amount of style and there's a lot of work put into it.
Oh, and HE GOT THE FUCKING STANLEY PARABLE NARRATOR TO DO IT.
Just brilliant. And the header has flowed from the tip of Veysel Kara's mighty digital paint brush.
I like Rust bases. I could honestly write a long and boring essay on the joy of seeing buildings that conform to their builder's needs yet still exist under the pressure of having something that'll repel raiders, but I think I'll just take a load of screenshots once a month and dump them on the blog.
If that was too static for you, don't forget MikeTheVike regularly takes a tour of his server's bases.
I can call that blog 'Ace of Bases'!
Pughie's had a very busy week, creating five bits of art, and so deserves the whole section. They've been sketching out avatars, scenes, and even reimagined bits of the game. I like the airdrop battle.
That was all the art.
Watch how one headshot sets Welyn up for a good run.
I feel bad for the shop owner, but you gotta code lock that stuff.
Xtab's Halloween contest drew in 150 entries, which means he now has 150 souls to feed on. Sorry if you didn't read the small print on that, but that was the deal. All the winners are on the other side of this link, enter if you darrrre.
And while we're here, here's this week's skin picks.
Speaking of Halloween...
You think you know what you're getting into, then that happens. What the hell, Brunt Force Trauma?
Expect this to pop up on a lot of modded servers. Gartia Jenkins created a rideable horse mod.
Remember: that's a mod. We don't support it. We don't have it. It's not official.
Think you're working on something awesome? Tell me all about it. Share your base designs, show off a game-mode from your server, or have you done a cool thing with Code Locks and Vending Machines?
There's a dedicated forum, or you can fish for upvotes in the Subreddit. I also shuffle around the the Steam Community, so feel free to show me to things from there. You can follow and respond to Rust on Twitter, and I'm on there as well.
I can't respond to everything, but I read every comment and take it all in.
