What a Rust DVD box would look like, apps, upcoming Rust roleplaying, and more.3 April 2018
I'm in a post-Easter break fugue state. I forgot yesterday was Monday until I got up today and realised it was Tuesday. Mondays are when I collate the blog, and on Tuesdays I blog. Time is clearly a construct, so if someone out there could lend me a day that they're not using, I'd be grateful.
Header is from here, and it's friggin' awesome. Now, Tuesday... let's do this.
Rust is so outside the box that we can't contain it. We've been told shops would need four dimensional shelving, and that Ark would complain. Because of that, we've never really had box art, which is something Scout339 took issue with. So they made their own, and it's great. Look at this, and then print it off.
And for those of us who lack the mental scaffolding to imagine it working, RoyallCSGO grafted it onto a 3D model.
A round of applause to both of you!
We're getting boats, but that didn't stop MikeTheVike hunting down one on his server. It's a bit different from what we have on the way: a giant carrier, made for role-playing. The detail on the inside is really remarkable: all those cargo containers on the deck have cargo on the inside.
I'm glad it has its own backstory, because it reminds me of the Staberinde.
A couple of applications popped up on my radar this week. On Steam, 3DCoat Modding Tool added Rust Workshop support. For those of you who want to get into item skinning, it might be a good route. There's even a 10-day demo, just to make sure.
And on Android, Rustafied has a new companion app. You can read about the game, updates, and server specific stuff as well.
It's just a few days until the new boat docks in game, but people have already been playing with it on the Staging servers. I watched this JordanRants video with a huge grin on my face, seeing how much fun he was having with the new toy.
Next week, the game will be full of them. I can't wait.
Think you're working on something awesome? Tell me all about it. Share your base designs, show off a game-mode from your server, or have you done a cool thing with boats?
There's a dedicated forum, or you can fish for upvotes in the sub reddit. I also shuffle around the the Steam Community, so feel free to show me to things from there. You can follow and respond to Rust on Twitter, and I'm on there as well.

We'll only update you about this project, we won't spam you about other stuff or sell your email address.
