Usually the welcome message is driven by the available art, and handily there's an accompanying piece to go with it this week, but even if there weren't I'd have found a way to place Vertiigo's latest video right at the top of the page. It's astonishing. At first, I thought 'The Vertiigo Parable' was just going to a bit of riff on the Stanley Parable game, but Vert played me like a fool. Yes, it's a riff, but it's done with an incredible amount of style and there's a lot of work put into it.
Oh, and HE GOT THE FUCKING STANLEY PARABLE NARRATOR TO DO IT.
Just brilliant. And the header has flowed from the tip of Veysel Kara's mighty digital paint brush.
Surge's work on his intros is always top notch (he's so good that we used a trailer he made), so I'm very glad he's gathered them all together into a compilation to celebrate 70k subscribers. It makes Rust look super slick and wooshy*.
*We are wobbly and scratchy.
I like Rust bases. I could honestly write a long and boring essay on the joy of seeing buildings that conform to their builder's needs yet still exist under the pressure of having something that'll repel raiders, but I think I'll just take a load of screenshots once a month and dump them on the blog.
That's already being done by the team at the Corrision Hour server, who use (but don't abuse) their admin privilege to document their server's buildings. Here's a few of September's.

Pughie's had a very busy week, creating five bits of art, and so deserves the whole section. They've been sketching out avatars, scenes, and even reimagined bits of the game. I like the airdrop battle.
