I always like to find new artists using the medium of Rust. The header image is by JolinaWolf, who sketched out the bone armour.
Can't wait to see more!
If you want to see a Rust-themed D&D campaign, and that's a very specific want, then welcome! Pitch Dank's RustQuest is a Rust-themed D&D campaign filmed in game, using the game as a basis for a story that you won't encounter on any server.
It's great, and here's episode 2, where things really kick off.
The best part of all this is that PitchDank is going to be pretty open with what they used to make the campaign, releasing regular content drops that lets viewers run their own game. Here's the first. It uses the wonderful Tabletop Simulator Workshop to good advantage. You can follow Ruigi's workshop here, too.
It's all a bit scattered. I hope they work out a website to keep it all neat.
It's been a while since we covered KCmo, but this latest video has some neat stuff. Rust Youtubers like to get creative with their intros, and this one sets up the battle for his tower base like the opening of a fantasy movie, complete with shaky VO and artwork.
Odd, but fun stuff.
I've spent some time this week floating around servers, looking at bases. It was mostly prompted by LissaLive's reddit post about her boat shop. I felt it deserved some proper shots.
I also popped onto The Dark Ages and found the HQ of the Vinci clan.
Over on reddit, DJRustyRust showed off a town, called Salt Cove, on his server.
Just call me Base Hunter. Actually, don't. That's silly.
Reddit made a lot of art this week. Let's start! Soap-disco turned a screenshot into a wallpaper.
Meanwhile, The_Crimson_Fvcker turned a screenshot into in-game art.
Finally, jelleu tried to imagine what modular weapon system could look like.
And that was the art.
This long and entertaining journey from Ser Winter has a nice flow to it. Hop in a boat, go on a trip, shoot some dudes.
I laughed so hard at 15 mins in.
Friendly Mike tasked Rust's population with one simple thing: to protect him while he went to the toilet. He even provided weapons. How do you think they did?
I'm actually impressed.
My reddit PM pinged and it was -Fujikura- decidedly not calling me a rude name, but instead asking me to look at his mod. I did, and I was highly* impressed. Eh?
Skinmaster Xtab has been on the dangerous journey into the Steam Workshop, and aside from the usual cuts and bruises, he's come away with more recommendations.
That pirate door is amazing.
Think you're working on something awesome? Tell me all about it. Share your base designs, show off a game-mode from your server, or have you done a cool thing with boats?
There's a dedicated forum, or you can fish for upvotes in the sub reddit. I also shuffle around the the Steam Community, so feel free to show me to things from there. You can follow and respond to Rust on Twitter, and I'm on there as well.
