Community Update 182

Rust has had a fairly nautical feeling of late. With the addition of boats to the game, and the upcoming diving gear, we've embraced life on the open waves. And it seems you lot have, too. The header is AndyCGYan's incredible base. An aircraft carrier sat in the shallows of a Rust server. As always, it's the details that stand out: they've used the Christmas strip lights as landing lights. That's awesome. And below, if you care about boating, there's a little boathouse. It even allowed visitors. We have more boat based bases to come.

Just like in Werner Herzog's film Fitzcarraldo, Ser Winter has chosen to push a boat across the land. And he also chose to narrate a journey that took him through invisible oceans as the land grasps the boat's hull. This is weird... Next patch we're adding land sharks. That'll stop such nonsense.

Art time! Rizza Gaming felt Rust could use some currency. The Dome is a particularly nice touch. Arty bits! From Solly on the left, and pjmoney on the right Futch's paintings in-game aren't always going to be easy to find, so they've created an online gallery for people to look in. Finally, Wilsonrats made a cardboard AK47. Art time is now finished.

It's been a long term goal of Vertiigo to make a base on an iceberg, so obviously this is full of anger, betrayal, paranoia, and a giant leap for the noobs. And both together end up rather positively. There had better be more of this. I'm invested.

Bases. Like children, they demand upkeep and protection, and then they're raided. So why bother? Because they can be ace, too. Look! Mom's been at it again. This time she's built a lovely little boat-hire shop on the official reddit server. The boats are making a nice change to all kinds of bases, as you can see during MikeTheVike's latest base tour. And then followed it up with a base made of doors, which housed a special player. I'm totally skeptical, too. But it's fun nonetheless. Finally, Modigliani has once again graced our forum with a roleplayer base. The little wires leading from the 'solar panels' are lovely.

It looks like hJune is picking up a following as a streamer. Here's a vid where he was playing in front of about 1000 viewers, and he makes a point of saying that it's stressful. I never really thought of that. Here's to many k more.

I holler into the void for Xtab's latest take on the Skin Workshop, and he shouts back a URL. Let's see if it works, shall we? I got it right!

On our forums, Strikerprod left the house and discovered that the outside world was all Rusty. He must have spawned in a camera, the filthy admin.
