The header is a from a custom map that's slowlllly coming together. WheatleyMF's 'Savage' map is set in a desert canyon, steep walls hemming in the action like no other Rust map you've ever seen. It'll be an interesting place to explore when it's finally completed. There's a downloadable preview available in the Rust Cartographers Discord, but it's very unfinished so I'm not directly linking to it. When it's finished, months from now, it'll have its own custom lore. I look forward to exploring it.
It's been too long since Boris the Blade turned his eye to Rust, having spent some time with other games. Here he is doing what he does best: making movies with Rust. Welcome back!
WheatleyMF isn't the only one working on a map with its own lore. Meza's Expedition map is an island-based map built to help solos and small groups, but it's dotted with scenes from other games and has its own mysteries. If you want to test it out, open the F1 console and join with connect 108.61.107.40:28016. You can also poke around a more surreal world made by jeseipi. Their Quadrants map is not a normal place: a world of square islands and giant crystals. It's not something you'd want to play for a full cycle, but it's an intersting place to explore. Finally, Drakess State has another map. Maps!
Just Welyn, playing with a purpose this time: here's what he can do in just a single Rust life. There's a part two, and I am waiting.
Reddit seems to have been trying its best to bring bits of the game into the real world this week. Mostly via AddSomeMemes, who showed off his prop-making skills with some cosplay, a pipey, and even a military crate. Others got involved, too. TheCJ_121 made a lock, and ketchup made an eoka. And finally, though I'm not even sure if this counts, but we had a marriage proposal thanks to Rust...
Props to you all.
It's unusual for me to come into the middle of a series to highlight it, but this is fun. MrMemeio goes on a raid, and ends up in a very unusual base. There's more door than base.
Rizza Gaming is Australian, so this is allowed. I would watch more of that.
Think you're working on something awesome? Tell me all about it. Share your map designs, show off a game-mode from your server, let us see your cool base. There's a dedicated forum, or you can fish for upvotes in the subreddit. I also shuffle around the the Steam Community, so feel free to show me to things from there. You can follow and respond to Rust on Twitter, and I'm on there as well.
